How we rank
A rank is an editorial order. It is not a score, a vote, or a traffic chart.
What we look at
- Fit. Does the tool do the job in that category, or is it only nearby?
- The core workflow. Can a person finish the task in the product?
- Who it is for. Readers here build software, agents, games, and other work with AI.
- Pricing clarity. We say free, free and paid, or paid only when we are sure. Otherwise we say check the site.
- Freshness. We print a public date when we have one, and the date we last checked the listing.
What we do not do
- We do not invent ratings, user counts, reviews, or traffic.
- We do not sell ranks. A sponsor slot is labeled. It is not a position in the list.
- We do not treat a vendor benchmark as our own test.
How to read a page
- 1 is the first tool we would open for that use case right now.
- A tool can sit in more than one category, with a different rank and a different best-for line.
- This week means Oct 24 to Oct 30, 2026, the seven days ending on the America/Denver day the site is built. A new build rolls the window.
- No release date means we have not confirmed one. It is not a claim that the tool is old.
Corrections
Prices and plans change. If a line is wrong, send a note or email [email protected]. We would rather leave pricing as "check site" than print a number we do not trust.
